High Scores at TBI Club Championship

Mick Tovey won the high scoring TBI Club Championship with 2 over par 73 at MeadowPark Golf Course in Tacoma, good enough for a two stroke victory.  Steve Onustack captured Low Gross with an 87, edging Shawn Tovey and Rick Berg by a stroke.
Four contenders tied for second place at net 75. Steve Onustack was awarded Second Low Net by virtue of two net eagles (natural birdies on #6 and #16). Shawn Tovey also birdied 16 (a chip in), but a triple bogey at 10 unravelled his chances. Randy Hagen double bogeyed 16, but birdied the 18^th to earn his net 75, while Bert Dewell’s bogey on 18 dropped him into the tie for second. 
Mick’s round included a near disasterous triple bogey on the pivotal par five 16^th. Back to back pars on the front nine led to a 45, and  he was able to hold on as the back nine played tough for all the contenders.
Low Gross was tightly contested as Shawn birdied 16 from off the green, while Steve drained a 30 foot putt immediately after wards to keep pace. Rick Berg joined the fray with a birdie at 17 en route to a back nine 42. Neither player could make up enough ground at the last hole, however as Steve held on for the win.
Bert Dewell won Closest to the Pin on the 4^th hole and Shawn Tovey was closest on #8. Rick Berg was one to within 8 feet on #17. Steve Onustack won Long Drive at #16.
