2002 TBI Club Championship

Solis, Dewell Each Capture 2nd TBI Title

In a mystifying piece of déjà vu, John Solis captured his second TBI Low Net Club Championship title and Bert Dewell won his second Low Gross title in three years. This pair captured the same titles in the inaugural TBI Club Championship two years ago.

John parred the first two holes and never looked back, using an awesome putting display to shoot a net 68 and win Low Net by two strokes over his nearest competitor.

Bert was the only player to master the claustrophobic back nine, shooting a 44 coming in. His back nine score was five strokes better than the next best effort.

Steve Denton and Mick Tovey each shot a 42 on the front nine, but both were unable to keep it going on the back.

Mike Steiner won Closest to the Pin on the 8th hole. Ron Slaminko captured KP on #17. Chris Tovey won KP on #13 and also captured long drive honors on the  16th hole.

Congratulations to John Solis and Bert Dewell, TBI Club Champions for 2002.
